Classification:

Goniochloris  Geitler  1928; 14 of 21 species descriptions are currently accepted taxonomically (Guiry and Guiry 2013)

Order Mischococcales;  Family Pleurochloridaceae

Morphology:

Green triangular nonflagellated unicells with short (cellulose?) hairs on surface. The cells may be embedded in laminated mucilage to form a colony.

Similar genera:

Polar view of some desmids (e.g. Staurastrum) are also triangular
